Central Westchester Indivisible
Newsletter #11 - April 3, 2026
More than eight million people showed up across the country for No Kings 3 to send a powerful message to Donald Trump and his minions. More than four hundred people showed up at Greenburgh’s Town Hall, approximately three thousand in Tarrytown and many thousands more across New York State. No Kings 3 was a huge success, but our work has barely started. We need to redouble our efforts here in Greenburgh, and across the country, to protect the rule of law, protect immigrants, protect and improve health care, and, critically important this year, fight for free and fair elections.
Here in Central Westchester we need to build our still new and relatively small chapter of Indivisible into a strong organization that can make a big difference. What can you do? Some of you may want to join our weekly protests at 1:00 pm every Sunday in April at Richard Presser Park in Greenburgh. In addition to sharing our message, we expect to meet people who will decide to join us.
We hope that many of you will also want to work with CWI as we build our capacity to be effective advocates and prioritize and flesh out the issues that we care about. Please contact us at cwindivisible@gmail.com to join one of our committees. We’re particularly interested in moving ahead quickly with our Immigration, Election/Voting Rights and Health Care committees, but there is work to be done on a variety of other issues. Please tell us what issues you think we should address, what our priorities should be and what you can do to help. For other local opportunities, please see the Other Opportunities section below. And, if you are not a CWI member yet, and want to join us, please click here.
The next major national action will be on May Day, MayDayStrong.org, about which you’ll be hearing much more over the next four weeks. Click the link to learn more.
We echo Bruce Springsteen’s words In Minneapolis earlier this week during the first night of his Land of Hope and Dreams tour, as quoted in the April 1 New York Times:
Tonight we ask all of you to join with us in choosing hope over fear, democracy over authoritarianism, the rule of law over lawlessness, ethics over unbridled corruption, resistance over complacency, unity over division and peace over war.
Central Westchester Indivisible is only as strong as its members and we’re calling on all of you to respond to Bruce Springsteen’s message right here in Westchester!
Other Opportunities
Looking for other opportunities to keep building momentum. See the following:
Campaign for Public Health - Help pass the New York Health Act
Immigration - State and Federal Legislation
Did we miss anything? As usual, we request that you provide us with information to include in future newsletters. You can do so by sending an email with the pertinent information to our email account cwindivisible@gmail.com. Please include the word "Event" in the email subject, so we know what to expect.
Finally, we’re still building CWI and we need your financial help. We’re a low-budget organization, but in the last couple of weeks alone we have incurred significant expenses including renting a meeting room for our general meeting and buying a public address system for No Kings. If you want to contribute to CWI, we’ve made it easy for you. Just click here to contribute to our work organizing right here in Central Westchester and make it possible for us to make a difference on state and federal issues.
THANKS FOR EVERYTHING YOU’RE ALREADY DOING. LET’S CONTINUE TO STAND TOGETHER TO MAKE OUR VOICES HEARD!
